Gaetano Buzzi founded North Hill Marble & Granite in Akron’s North Hill area in 1918. In the 1930’s, his sons Vince and Paul Buzzi took control of the operations. As the generations continued their succession, North Hill Marble and Granite continued to operate with the same commitment to service and excellence started by Gaetano Buzzi.
In 1998, Rock of Ages Corporation from Barre, VT acquired North Hill Marble and Granite in their quest to build the Rock of Ages brand through memorial retailers. During that ten year time frame, Rock of Ages assigned Larry Conti with the responsibility of managing several locations in northern Ohio, including North Hill Marble and Granite.
